Although I had considered myself for my entire life, this still remained a challenging task. Finding out why I write required a deep investigation into myself not only solely as a writer, but also in plainly who I am as a person. This included what I think about myself, what I think I am capable of, and what I think I can do to reach this. I chose the topic of comedy not because I believe that I am a funny person, or because I think that writing a funny piece would be more enjoyable for the reader. I wrote about comedy because I believe that the answer to why I write lies in what I find appealing about these funny people. I listened to a lot of my favorite comedy pits in order to write this piece, and focused on how I can use their methods of delivery in my own works. I admire their ability to take the mundane of life's trvialities and create something that people not only can just emphathize with, but will enjoying doing so.
